Due to the recent discussion about using the name 'Kimono' for garments, which are not the traditional japanese kimono, Helen's Closet has changed the name of the pattern from 'Suki Kimono' to 'Suki Robe' - here's the link to the statement.
If you haven't heard about that topic yet, or don't understand the cause, I hardly recommend you read this post from Emi Ito.
As a response, of course I've updated this post. In case I've missed anything still offensive, please leave a comment and I'll change it. It's not my intention to offend anyone.

Here's my black lace version of the Helen's Closet Suki Robe sewing pattern!
When I bought the pattern, I knew exactly, what I was going to make: a black lace robe of course! I saw one years ago in a store and fell in love with it immediately... but it had fringes. Little Minn inside me cried a little as I went home without that robe.
Anyways, no project is complete with at least a few minutes searching for inspiration on pinterest. Here's what I found best:
All sooo beautiful, right?!
Anyways again, I made a straight size M, 'short' version, no pockets, no ties. I should have made the front bands all the way down instead of stopping midways as the pattern says, but that's okay, I still think it looks perfect.
Obviously this is not a homewear-piece. It's quite a statement to wear! But in my opinion it's part of being a sewist to wear the selfmade stuff with more and more confidence.
2019 edit: Since this robe was such a huge success - it's one of my most worn selfmade items - I just had to make another one. Check out my short satin version here!
