This post refers to a sewing pattern, which I received for free to review it.

Damn, that title is a cheap joke, I know!
But do you want to know, what doesn't look cheap? (Yep, that's another one!)

These leggings are, at least for me - and who am I to care about what some stranger thinks. 😉
Long story short, I love them and I wear them a lot. Sewing goals accomplished!

I've already made a pair of Penny Leggings using a blueish/greyish bat pattern sweat knit. So if you're looking for details about the sewing pattern itself, please head over to this post! I won't repeat it here.
The pattern I used for these leggings are the Penny Leggings by Sinclair Patterns*.
My first Penny leggings were a bit too small back in summer, but now that I weigh about 7 kg less they fit perfectly! Sadly, it's winter now and won't be warm enough for knee length leggings for quite a few more weeks. What I can and do wear though are long leggings.

These photos were actually taken before my weight loss, so they are kind of tight here ;)

For years - since they became popular - I couldn't decide wether I like jeggings or not. They always looked so incredibly comfortable to me, but back then I was so aware of my bum, I was sure I could never pull that look off. So tight! Not even jeans would fit me, how are these supposed to??
But, since I started sewing my clothes, I learned a lot about garments, bodies and how to like my own body. As I already made peace with leggings, it was time to try jeggings too.

I made a straight size 8 again, this time the long version. I'm actually surprised they fit over my calves! I have to admit though, I can't pull them up, the seam would just break.
The fabric I used is a very stretchy black jeans jersey from lillestoff - the exact one is not available anymore, but it's basically the same as these.

I did not add front pockets - I know RTW jeggings often have them, but I just couldn't bother. I wanted them fast! But after a few wears I did add back pockets - my own design - and I even embroidered them. Pockets, as many design elements, do break up the surface and they can make the difference between a "fat bum" and a nice full booty. I think these turned out to be just perfect!

Butt pic!

Since I made this pair - which was already last summer - I've worn them dozens of times. So this garment is something I needed and something I wanted, which means it fullfills my 2019 sewing goals 100%.

Now over to you:
Hands up, who else wears jeggings? Or are you part of the "haters"?
