Yet another Sew diy Lou Box Top

I think it's safe to say I have a thing with Sew DIY sewing patterns. So far I've shown you a Nita wrap skirt, a Lou Box Dress 2, two normal Ali Sweatshirts (old versions), another modified Ali Sweatshirt (old version), as well as two slightly modified Lou Box Tops (one with cats, the other with flowers).
I have also taken the Lou Box Dress 1 pattern and modified it for a very comfy yet flattering mini dress a few weeks ago, but haven't shown it yet.

Today I'm showing you a very old project, my very first Lou Box Top.

I shot these photos in summer 2018 and the top itself is even older - which is why a) I don't really have much to say about it, b) I don't quite remember the details, c) I chose the worst fabric for it and d) I had more weight in these photos than I do now.

As I said, this is the first Lou Box Top I made. So don't get confused, this one is older than the other two I've shown. And it is actually not modified, it's 100% original!

Not surprisingly it doesn't get worn much, because it's just the worst ever fabric. It's all polyester and I have no idea what you're supposed to make out of it. There's just no way this is comfortably wearable at any time, everything immediately gets hot and sweaty, then cold and klingy.
The top also doesn't look good, since the fabric bunches up and moves in a strange way. The center back seam does not work well with this fabric, as you can see it just looks weird - and yes, of course I did iron it.

Obviously this is yet another failed project. In the beginning of my sewing journey I bought a lot of fabric, just because I liked the look, pattern, colours or feel of it. Or because it was a sale. Many of those are not good for garment making, but I had to find that out by myself.
Unfortunately I still have a few fabrics left in my stash, where I struggle with choosing the right project for them, as they didn't fit for anything so far. And also a few makes that don't fit well or not anymore, are unwearable or just not my style. It's on my todo list to think of something useful for them.

Crazy cat pin!!!

And that's about it!
I hope all of you are doing well! All my upcoming concerts, rehearsals and meetings have been canceled (due to COVID-19 obviously) so I have more time for sewing ahead than I expected. I really hope I can finish studying corset making and finally make a choice and start with it.

See ya next week!
